South Devon Cattle Society of New Zealand

Big Win For Loch Lomond Stud

Southland A&P held their first ever On Farm Beef and Dairy judging last week (21/2/19). Due to M Bovis here in New Zealand our Cattle classes have taken a huge hit with many Shows choosing not to hold classes.
2018 should of seen Invercargill (Southland A&P) celebrate their 150th anniversary, with which they did celebrate without the influence of cattle attending. With the hard work of their committee members, they organised a on farm show, believed to be a first for a A&P.
Judging was held a week prior to the actual show day, with the results been announced on show-day, along with a BBQ for all involved.

Rob Hall, beef convener and exhibitor was extremely happy with the support from both the Beef and Dairy breeders and saw a average of 8 entries per beef class. Many of the breeders took opportunity to enter animals that would not of made a show ring due to time, age and fact many are not halter broken.
